Bio

Bill Abbott was inspired to play the bass from an early age. A walking bassline from a mouse on a piano in a cartoon (Bugs Bunny, Rhapsody Rabbit) caught his ear and put a smile on his face. Classic rock was a passion and playing night clubs from the age of 16 was a thrill for a young man. Continuing his passion, Bill went on to receive an Associates of Art degree in Music from Bergen Community College. After years of various bands and studio recordings, Bill went back to restudy Jazz theory with Joe Macaro and further his music knowledge. And in 2012 he took up playing the upright bass.

Bill is currently playing with the Classic Rock Band, “NY Hitmen”.  He also plays with the Jazz/ R&B Trio, “New York Groove” and the world’s leading Ray Charles tribute band, “Forever Ray”. Bill has played gigs with in venues such as Lincoln Center, Mohegan Sun and BB Kings in Manhattan. Bill Abbott is forever dedicated to improving his musicianship and entertaining audiences.
