Bio

I was inspired to play the bass from an early age. A walking bassline from a mouse on a piano in a cartoon (Bugs Bunny, Rhapsody Rabbit) caught my ear and put a smile on my face. Classic rock was a passion and playing night clubs from the age of 17 was a thrill for a young man. Continuing my passion, I went on to receive an Associates of Art degree in Music from Bergen Community College in New Jersey. During my studies I toured with a local Heavy Metal band while studying jazz theory and learning to write Baroque classical music. After years of various bands and some studio recording I went back to restudy Jazz theory with the great Joe Macaro https://www.facebook.com/joe.macaro.1  Every lesson with Joe is a Master Class for every musician of every instrument.  I am currently playing with the classic rock Band Renegade Revolution Band https://www.renegaderevolutionband.com/ and the New York Hitmen. I also play with the world’s leading Ray Charles tribute band, Forever Rayhttps://www.foreverray.com/  Playing gigs in many top venues such as Lincoln Center, Mohegan Sun and BB Kings in Manhattan. My son and I Captain a charter fishing boat named Basslines Sportfishing https://basslinessportfishing.com/   I live in N.J. with my wife June, son Willy and daughter Julia.  I am forever dedicated to improving my musicianship and entertaining audiences.  I was about 10 years old and there was this album. Let the Good Times Roll” a reunion of 50s stars. Muddy Waters and Little Richard, that was real cool. It was a live album. Then I picked up Hendrix album and a Beatles album. That blew my mind. I heard about in 1972 when I was 10 yrs old.  Woodstock and I said I missed it 4 years ago. And the Beatles yeah somebody said they broke up oh shit. Hendrix is incredible, oh, he died?  I felt that I was born too late. It was all over.  But then there was Black Sabbath, kiss, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin mountain. Ted Nugent.  I said I gotta do this, so I picked up the bass. I saw The Time Jumpers in Nashville a couple weeks ago and the singer Wendy Moten said she was raised watching Soul Train and Hee Haw. I get it. That was me.

As a bass player, I feel like I’m halfway between a drummer and a guitar player.  In an orchestra, you have a rhythm section and a rock band the rhythm section is the drums and the bass.  That’s where I belong.  When I am in a groove with a great drummer, a smooth guitar player that covers the upper end and a singer that you just want to hear more of, life is good!  Being in the pocket is my jam..    Music is like food. Familiarity brings you back. Taste and music makes you think and feel different things.  God owns everything and my greatest accomplishment is the love of my family. I strive for the connection to nature and the vibration that music offers.
